Touch-free soap and hand rub dispensers: two new products from Medical Process

Elbow-operated or electronic control

28/09/2026

A well-designed hand-wash basin is only half the job if things get complicated when it comes to soap. A pump pressed with the whole hand, drops falling on the floor, awkward refilling: this is often where hand hygiene loses its effectiveness. That is why we have designed two refillable dispensers that fit directly onto our hand-wash basins and surgical scrub troughs, with no hand contact with the device.

Two controls, one principle: no touching

Refillable elbow-operated dispenser (ref. 501KXMANUAL)

Staff operate the lever with the elbow or forearm. No batteries, no power supply: a simple, robust solution for treatment rooms, consultation rooms and corridors.

Refillable electronic dispenser (ref. 501KXTOUCHLESS)

Touch-free detection, powered by 4 C-size alkaline batteries. An LED shows the status of the unit: green in use, red when the cover is open, flashing red when batteries are low. Staff can spot a unit that needs attention at a glance.

Medical Process soap dispenser features: elbow-operated or electronic, 500 ml, 1.5 or 3 ml dose, wall or rail mounting

What both models share

  • 500 ml refillable reservoir, filled from the top
  • Selectable dose of 1.5 ml or 3 ml
  • Compatible with all types of soap, alcohol-based hand rubs and fluid antiseptics such as povidone-iodine: no proprietary cartridge, you choose the product
  • Replaceable pump and removable components
  • Supplied unlocked, or key-lockable on request
  • 2-year warranty

On the Medical Process rail: the mounting that makes the difference

Both dispensers can be fixed directly to the wall, or clipped with a PVC mounting plate onto our Rilsan-coated aluminium rail, available across the whole range: MP'SMART®, MP'MEDIO®, MP'UNO®, MP'DUO® and MP'TRIO®. This brings three practical benefits:

  • drops fall into the basin, not onto the floor;
  • changing or moving an accessory requires no new drilling;
  • each item can be removed in seconds for cleaning.

Refillable, provided it is done right

International hand hygiene guidance is clear: never top up a partially empty dispenser. Before each refill, the reservoir must be emptied, cleaned and dried. Our dispensers are designed for this protocol: top opening, removable pump, smooth surfaces that clean easily with warm water and mild soap.

Who is it for?

Hospitals, clinics, care homes and medical practices. For engineering firms and architects, it also means specifying a complete, consistent hand-wash point (basin, rail, dispensers, filtration) from a single manufacturer.
